It was around 8th grade when we first met. My dad actually introduced us; I don’t think he had any idea what he was doing. I remember thinking you were a little weird at first. It was an awkward time for me, puberty and all that. However, soon I got to know how sweet you could be and I was in love. We were only together for a couple of years or so and you disappeared. You were suddenly no where to be found and I was devastated. I was with other people, but I always talked about the love we shared. I thought you were gone forever.
I didn’t know you would be back though… and I didn’t know it would cause such problems.

One day Scott told me he found you. I couldn’t believe it! There you were at Dillon’s like nothing had happened. You were sitting on the shelf like any other soda, but you know you are so special. Sunkist Sparkling Lemonade, you are finally back in my life!

Now I’ve seen you around town a bit more, even in bottles at Hy-Vee. I hope you decide to stick around, but I’m bracing myself for the day I can’t find you in stores. Sunkist Sparkling Lemonade, I know you aren’t into commitment and I understand that you’re still seeing other people. I think it is for the best, actually. I hope that everyone in town can enjoy your wonderful taste. Maybe then the fascist grocers won’t try to push you off the shelves.
Scottie is, I suppose, understandably jealous. I don’t know how much longer this affair can continue. Scottie doesn’t want me seeing you anymore. This is the hardest decision I’ve been faced with in my entire life. Either way, I’ll always love you. Just don’t forget me.
